Welcome to our new website!
My name is Tommy and I’m responsible for the daily operations here at Logmar Camera Solutions.
At Logmar we are all film aficionados and have purposedly chosen to work within the analog realm because we genuinely believe that this is still the future for motion picture.
In 2015 we launched our first product the Chatham S8 film acclaimed to be the best image quality performing 8mm camera ever made.
In 2016 we licensed our 8mm intellectual property rights to the Eastman Kodak Company and developed a Super8 camera for them which was a fully functional slot-in cartridge concept camera under our working name Humboldt S8.
In 2018 we introduced the world to our Magellan 65 camera at CineGear in Los Angeles.
In 2019 we had the pleasure of working on Christopher Nolan’s TENET movie with Magellan and won the International Moving Image Society’s Technical Achievement Award.
In 2020 and 2021 we struggled with the Covid-19 pandemic which had us in government mandated lockdowns for more than nine months on and off which together with immense difficulties in obtaining raw materials had us focusing our efforts on in-house activities allowing us to investigate two new camera platforms, the “Rockhopper S16” being a professional Super 16mm camera and “Gentoo S8” a Super 8mm camera aimed towards “prosumers” such as wedding- and music-photographers and rental houses etc.
These two new platforms are still in the design phase pending pre-sales before they will be committed to manufacturing – stay tuned for more information about that later in 2022.
Fourth quarter of 2021 also saw new developments on our Magellan 65 platform, which we hope to incorporate in early 2022 allowing to again serve new projects on 65mm.
With those words we hope you will enjoy your stay on our website, and we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year!
